Decentralized marketplace for
cross-industry interoperability

Citopia is a member-owned and operated federated network of nodes creating a cross-industry, decentralized, interoperable Web3 marketplace.

Citopia was launched out of the MOBI consortium, which includes over 100 vehicle manufacturers, startups, NGOs, government agencies, smart city leaders, financial institutions, insurers, telecoms, and technology companies. Citopia leverages Self-Sovereign Digital Twin™ applications (Citopia Passports) based on World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Verifiable Credentials (VCs) and Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) standards. Citopia is built on MOBI standards alongside other standards from organizations such as ISO, IEEE, and SAE. Citopia is incorporated as an independent organization with its own governance structure. MOBI membership is required to run a node on Citopia

Citopia Services

Public and private organizations of all sizes, along with individuals, can leverage Citopia services to enhance trust, data privacy, and extensibility for cross-industry business processes. Citopia is platform-agnostic, designed to work with any legacy system and web service — as a result, interoperability is easier and transaction costs are lower than ever before.

Seamless Onboarding, Search, Offer, and Coordination

Data Privacy & Selective Disclosure

Entities (organizations and individuals) can self-create Citopia Passports (see our Web3 Technology page to learn more) to onboard, search, offer, and coordinate services/assets using standardized API without relying on centralized platforms and third-party services.

Affordable, Interoperable, Scalable, and Extensible

Trusted Credential Verification

Citopia transactions use W3C VCs and DIDs standards. This allows entities to verify each other’s claims — such as legal identity or supply chain provenance — without relying on centralized certificate authorities. Verifications can be performed by any ecosystem stakeholder.

Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs)

Decentralization

Citopia leverages ZKPs to preserve sensitive business and consumer data in compliance with regulatory frameworks such as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

Why Use Citopia?

Why Use Citopia?

Globally, there are hundreds of thousands of governmental agencies, service providers of all sizes, and individuals with unique databases, processes, and regulations for handling business and consumer data. To streamline complex value chains involving disparate and untrusted parties, the solution must be cost-effective, easily accessible (low barrier to entry), adaptable to comply with jurisdictional regulatory requirements, and standardized with a globally-accepted mechanism for verifying identities and claims.

Zero Trust Compliance

Zero Trust Compliance

Within Citopia Web3 ecosystem, every entity is required to authenticate and authorize every other entity for every single digital interaction at all times, in compliance with the 2022 Federal Zero Trust Mandate. Therefore, all credentials and claims are standardized and non-repudiable.

Decentralized Data at the Edge

Decentralized Data at the Edge

Transactions by ecosystem stakeholders do not require direct connection to datacenters. Instead, data is pushed to the edge for near real-time processing. All transactions use standardized W3C VCs with DIDs anchored to blockchains (transactions and data do not go onto blockchains) in compliance with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR and CPRA.

Data Security, Privacy, and Selective Disclosure

Data Security, Privacy, and Selective Disclosure

Users (organizations or individuals) can selectively disclose/verify information at the moment of transaction to intended recipients without having to collect or store data. This enables higher regulatory compliance for stakeholders in every industry. Read our Privacy page to learn more about Citopia’s commitment to data privacy.

Affordable, Interoperable, Scalable, and Extensible

Affordable, Interoperable, Scalable, and Extensible

Citopia Passports are standards-based, platform-agnostic universal translators that work with any legacy system and web services without the need for costly new infrastructure or integration requirements. By using Citopia, service providers can cooperate to maximize benefits to customers along with having larger customer pools.

Decentralization

Decentralization

Citopia is a community-owned and operated federated network of nodes, therefore no one entity owns a centralized platform. If a node operator stops operating a node, the network will continue to function. Applications and services in the Citopia ecosystem are built and managed by each operator, thereby creating a decentralized marketplace of services.
